A little about me
Whilst juggling a busy and physically demanding career as a full time photographer, I first sought out Yoga in 2013, as a way to ease injuries I was beginning to struggle with from overloading my body with heavy and bulky camera equipment. Whilst originally the practice started out as a physical challenge, it wasn’t long before the overall benefits of the practice began to impact on my physical and mental health for the better. The practice completely transformed how I viewed myself, my body, my thoughts and my life. Building a positive relationship with myself through the teachings of yoga has allowed me to build resilience, patience, self love, awareness and understanding to many aspects of life, and is something that I really believe can benefit everyone, in some way.
After a few years of practice attending multiple studios and workshops in the UK, I felt called to begin down the path of a Vinyasa Teacher Training course. After completing my first 200Hr teacher training in 2017, I have since been involved with multiple north east based yoga studios and community projects, assisting and leading Surf & Yoga workshops, and most recently have ran a series of sold out events working alongside local musicians, known as Yoga Live at the Sage Gateshead.
Since that initial introduction yoga has held a strong presence in my life despite taking a step back from teaching full time in 2020. More recently yoga has been an imperative way for me to navigate my own challenges, healing & growth. Excited to reconnect with teaching, I’m passionate about facilitating space for others to find balance, connection & peace within the demands of our often overwhelming modern lives. Teaching a variety of vinyasa classes, I create playful, flowing sequences, connecting strength and softness, which simultaneously leave you feeling soothed & empowered.
